The best games on sale for iPhone and iPad right now – December 20th

We’re getting towards the end of the year, and that means that there are a whole bunch of games on sale right now for iPhone and iPad. And you know what? Some of them are really, really good. In fact, there might be too many to choose from.

But don’t worry about that, because we’ve gone right ahead and picked the five that you should be splashing your cash on. After all, you’ve probably spent a good deal of money this month on wonderful presents for me. I mean for your family.

You can click on the names of the games below to grab them from the App Store. And if you’ve got your own suggestions, lob them without fear of reprisal into the comments section down there at the bottom of the article.

Steredenn – £1.99 / $ 1.99

A space-based shooter that mixes in roguelike elements to create something pretty darn special. It looks incredible, and you’ll be slicing through waves of enemies with a mixed look of concentration and unbridled joy on your probably sweaty face.

The Room Three – £1.99 / $ 1.99

One of the best puzzle games on the App Store. In fact its just one of the best puzzle games period. It sees you using the touchscreen to manipulate things in a creepy Victorian setting. There’s so much to do, so much to…

The 5 best games for iPhone and iPad this week – October 20th

It’s Friday again. The week is spinning towards its ignominious and no doubt messy end. By which I mean it’s nearly the weekend and we’re all probably going to go out and get real silly. I know I am. Real silly. You know what I mean.

Anyway, there’s still the small matter of one more bit of AppSpy content to round off the week in style. And since it’s Friday, like it always is on Fridays, that means we’re going to round up all the best games that came out on the App Store this week. So that’ll be fun.

As usual you can click on the emboldened names of the games below to download them from the App Store. And if you’ve spotted anything that caught your eye that we’ve missed, feel free to chuck your suggestions in the comments down there at the bottom of the article. Cool. Cool cool cool.

Warhammer Quest 2

A turn-based dungeon crawler set in the most miserable, monster-riddled corners of the Warhammer world. Build up your party of unlikely adventurers in order to try and save the world from the ravages of chaos. Oh, and get some sweet loot in the process.

The best games on sale for iPhone and iPad right now – September 20th

Yes, it’s Wednesday. It’s been Wednesday for quite a while now, depending on where you are. It might not be Wednesday in some places. How does time even work? I have no idea. Go ask a grown up, we’re here to talk about games.

And on Wednesday (which is the day that today is), we talk about games that are on sale. Five of them. The best five that are currently going for cheap on the App Store. So that’s exactly what we’re going to do right now.

As usual you can click on the emboldened name of the games below to download them from the App Store. And if you’ve got your own suggestions, feel free to toss them haphazardly into the comments section at the bottom of the article.

Scurvy Scallywags – Free

There are a lot of match-stuff puzzlers on the App Store. A good deal of them are complete garbage. This one isn’t though. It’s full of pirates and silliness, and its full name is far too long to type. The board moves, you’re trying to create the perfect sea shanty, and the whole thing is really rather wonderful.

The 5 best iPad and iPhone games this week – 20th January

Oh Friday. Lovely, lovely Friday. The last day of the week, time to kick back, relax and maybe play some games. But what games are you going to play? That’s the question, isn’t it?

But don’t you worry, because here at AppSpy we’re really good at answering questions. And we’re going to answer that one in the form of a list. Because research has shown that lists are the best way of listing things.

So here we go, a list of the five games you should definitely think about playing this weekend. Especially if you like playing games. If you don’t like playing games I’m not entirely sure what you’re doing here.

WarFriends

You don’t really make any friends in war. You just shoot people until they’re dead and get horribly traumatised. That doesn’t change the fact that this is a solid third person cover shooter with a twist.

The twist is that it’s also sort of a tower offence game. And a bit like Clash Royale. It’s also a lot of fun, so go and play it and shoot people and upgrade things.

Sky Dancer

Yes, fine, it’s an auto-runner, but it’s also a really good looking game that’s surprisingly calming.…

Bug Heroes 2 will come buzzing on to the App Store on February 20th

Back in 2011, Foursaken Media released a little game called Bug Heroes that we quite enjoyed. Now, they are back with the sequel, Bug Heroes 2, which will hit the App Store on February 20th.

The upcoming Bug Heroes 2 is set against the backdrop of a regular family home. When the residents of the house go out each day, their creepy-crawly roommates go to war.

Offering a cast of 25 different insect infantry, the game lets you to choose a two-man squad to take into combat. Picking from units such as cockroach knights, waterbug pirates, and ant engineers, you must balance their strengths and weakness in combat to securing victory.

Bug Heroes 2 will also offer co-op and competitive play, seemingly in an effort to generate a multiplayer battle arena vibe.

As the above video shows, the chunky art style of the oversized invertebrates looks particularly good against the blow-up domestic backgrounds.

Bug Heroes 2‘s new third-person camera is also a nice change from the series’ previous overhead perspective.

We don’t know how much Bug Heroes 2 will cost when it lands on the App Store next month, but we’ll be sure to keep our eye on the hill till a price is revealed.
