The Monday Musing – Which other Pokemon deserve their own spinoff game?

Well, Magikarp Jump is a game. It’s quite a good game as well, so long as you don’t mind playing games where you don’t actually really do all that much. But it has stirred a thought deep within the recesses of my brain, and I have decided to release that thought onto the world.

And I’m going to do it in the form of glorious, glorious content. This piece of content in fact. It’s a list I like to call, what other Pokemon deserve their own standalone games. It seemed like a good idea when it first came to me, so I’m running with it.

Agree? Disagree? Want me to write more posts that detail hypothetical games that fictional characters should become engaged in? Well let us know in the comments below. In the meantime, let’s get cracking.

Snorlax

If Pokemon GO is a game about walking around, the Snorlax spinoff could be an antidote to that. You earn points by not moving. You earn more for sleeping. You earn even more if you’re sleeping in a place that means people can’t get past you. I can see no problems with the implementation of this idea.

Raichu

This one would be a dark point and click adventure about a Raichu comi…

New: Jaipur: A Card Game of Duels (Games)

Jaipur: A Card Game of Duels 1.0

Device: iOS Universal
Category: Games
Price: $ 2.99, Version: 1.0 (iTunes)

Description:

** WARNING: iPad 2, iPad Mini 1 & iPhone 4S are NOT compatible. **

*** Special Launch Price for a limited time! ***

*** "Looks Gorgeous! I love the interface, so smooth and intuitive!" *** – Brett Nolan, OTGGamer

*** "I’ve been playing a ton of the new Jaipur app!” *** – Pep McDonald, Watch it Played

A Spiel des Jahres Recommended game, Jaipur is one of the most most well-loved 2-player tabletop games. Jaipur is a fast-paced card game for two players with a blend of tactics, risk and luck. You are one of the most powerful traders in Jaipur, the capital city of Rajasthan. You and your opponent duel to demonstrate to the Maharajah that you can earn a greater profit than your competition. At the end of a round, one player receives the Maharajah’s seal of excellence, and the first player to earn two seals of excellence wins the privilege of being invited to the Maharajah’s court!

Each turn, you can choose to take one card, exchange your cards for other goods, buy the camels needed to transport your wares, or sell at the market. The sooner you sell and the more you sell of a single good at once, the higher your profit.

If you take cards, you have to choose between taking all the camels, taking 1 card from the market or swapping 2 to 5 cards between the market and your cards. If you sell cards, you get to sell only one type of good per turn, and you get as many chips from that good as you sold cards. The chips’ values decrease as the game progresses, but you get increasingly high rewards for selling sets of 3, 4, or 5 cards of the same good at a time, so it’s all about waiting just the right amount of time to make your trade.

You can’t sell camels, but they are integral to trading and they’re also worth a little something at the end of the round, sometimes enough to secure the win so use them smartly!

In this digital adaptation of the award-winning card game, find a comprehensive interactive tutorial and an extensive campaign mode. Solo play is available at three levels of difficulty. The Monday Musing – What can we expect from King’s Call of Duty mobile game?

The big news over the last week has revolved around a job posting. Oh boo, you might say, that’s not that interesting, why don’t you go and write about something interesting Harry you useless sack of human garbage.

Well, when the job posting was on King’s website – yup, the developer behind Candy Crush, Bubble Witch, and a number of other puzzling mobile sagas – and it concerns Call of Duty – yup, the world’s foremost shooty bang bang man game – then I think it counts as interesting.

No, don’t worry, there’s no need to apologise, I’m used to the insults. Anyway, that’s what this week’s Monday Musing is all about. What can we expect from Candy Call of Duty Saga? Here are some ideas.

It’s not going to be a match-stuff puzzler

I mean, it’s just not going to be. I honestly can’t see how that would work, on any sort of level. Not just because matching guns to kill foreigners might be a little bit on the nose, but because the brand recognition that CoD brings doesn’t really tie in to that sort of genre.

And it’s that brand recognition that King-tivision is going to be banking on to, well, bank the big bucks it’s going to want to suck in from the franchise.

There will be action

I can’t imagine a CoD game without some sort of shooting. There was that CoD: Heroes game that was basically Clash of Clans with tanks and different moustaches, but I’m going to bet we can expect mor…

Game of Dice is back with a vengeance (and a winter update)

Winter is officially upon us, and with it comes Joycity’s brand new winter update for its smash hit game – Game of Dice.

For those of you who’re new to the game, Game of Dice is the thrilling and super competitive virtual board game that sees you play solo or against your mates, to be named the most powerful property tycoon in the game.

While the game is already a huge success, the newest winter update looks set to be the best version yet, and is crammed full of cool (see what we did there) new features.

Explore the brand new 1:1 Crystal Village map, and take on your competitors in an intense battle to activate the glacial crystal – letting you ramp up your tolls and bankrupt your opponents. But players beware, because with new brand updates come brand new challenges.

Keep your eyes peeled for the frozen city blocks that’re dotted about the board, because landing on one of these bad boys could be your downfall. If you’re unlucky enough to step on one of these slippery squares, you’ll get just 1 more chance to roll the dice before all your properties are frozen stiff – making them impossible for you to collect your tolls.

But the fun doesn’t end there, as there’s a brand new character to play as too. Introduce yourself to “Wintery-M…
