After it was released on Android a month or two back, Rusted Emeth is now out on iOS.
It’s a cool concept for a JRPG: many people have become hunters who collect bounties after defeating massive creatures in battle using their Golems (heavily armoured mechs).
The visuals are a little basic, but keep with Kemco’s usual 16-bit aesthetic, and I’m really liking the fact that the controls are optimised for touchscreens, and aren’t virtual sticks.
I fired up Rusted Emeth so I could show you the opening moments, click play below to see them.
Jetpack Joyride developer Halfbrick Studios has taken to YouTube to warn us of an incoming threat to our national security.
According the video (below) a giant mechanical snake called Colossatron is tearing up capital cities, laying siege to skyscrapers and soldiers alike with a terrifying arsenal of space-age weaponry.
Luckily for us, this massive metal serpent is merely a character in Halfbrick’s lastest iOS project Colossatron: Massive World Threat.
You will take control of the titular snake, and have to conquer earth’s military defences while increasing your own firepower. To boost your weapons’ capabilities, you need to reconfigure the snake’s modular ‘powercores’, aligning different colours to create different attacks.
We’re always interested to see what the folks behind iOS classics like Jetpack Joyride and Fruit Ninja are working on, and Colossatron looks to be just the right side of utterly mental. It’s out in 2014.
