Here’s everything you need to know about Pokemon GO’s eggstravaganza update for iPhone and Android

Easter is here, and that can only mean one thing. Pokemon GO has been updated! Actually it probably means a lot more than that, but that’s the thing I’m focusing on because I don’t know how much content I’d be able to get out of eggs and zombie Jesus.

So instead I’m going to write about the Pokemon GO eggstravaganza. So I guess I am writing about eggs. Look, it’s been a long day and I don’t know where my wallet is so let’s just try and get this over and done with then we can all go have a nice long weekend.

What is it?

The eggstravaganza is the latest update to Pokemon GO. It’s come out just in time for the Easter break, and it’s brought with it some new tweaks that are likely to make you smile while you stuff chocolate facsimiles of chicken periods into your face.

What tweaks?

Well, there’s now a wider range of Pokemon in the 2km eggs. So that’s a pretty good reason to put some shoes on and go for a wander. Plus every egg that you hatch is going to give you more candy. ‘Tis the season, after all.

The Pokemon that pop out are going to level up faster as well, thanks to the fact they get double XP. Basically Pokemon GO really wants you to start wandering around, collecting more Pokemon, and having a lovely old time in the sunshine.

Lucky Eggs are also on sale in the store. They’re 50% off, which is a pretty good deal, and using one of those will get you quadruple XP. Which sounds ridic…

Gangstar New Orleans is out right now for iPhone, iPad, and Android – Here’s everything you need to know

Gangstar: New Orleans is the latest in Gameloft’s murdery crime franchise. Think GTA on mobile and you’re about half way there. Well, actually you’re about all of the way there.

But what do you need to know before you jump into the game’s world of car-jackings, drug deals, and all manner of other underworld activities? Well, you need to know everything in the list just below.

You can click on the emboldened name of the game to head over to the App Store where you can download it for free. And join us next week where we’ll be going over the game with a fine-tooth comb in one of our massive guides.

Gangstar: New Orleans – Free

What is it?

Like the intro says, it’s the newest in Gameloft’s series of GTA aping crime sims. This time it’s set in New Orleans and it’s free to play.

You play a grizzled gangster type who’s setting out with some unscrupulous friends to take over a power vacuum left by a series of arrest by the New Orleans police.

To that end you complete tasks, murder a lot of people, and try and claim turf from other gang leaders on your way to the top.

Free to play you say?

I did say that, didn’t I? Yup, while the game is still ostensibly open world, every time you perform a mission you’ll have to spend some energy.

There’s plenty of ot…

Lords of the Fallen is out right now on iPad and iPhone, here’s everything you need to know

Lords of the Fallen is a new mobile game that has ties with the console game of the same name. So we thought it’d make sense to give you a breakdown of just what that means.

So here, in handy list form, is everything you need to know about the game that just hit the App Store. Well, almost everything. We don’t know any hacks or anything crazy like that.

It’s premium

And when I say premium, I mean super premium. You’re looking at a ten pound spend to get the game installed on your device. Which is, well, pretty expensive in this day and age, let’s be honest.

But it also has consumable IAPs. They’re not necessary to complete the game or anything like that, but one of them costs £48.99. And another, which gives you all the equipment in the game will set you back £9.99. Like I say though, they’re not essential.

It’s Infinity Blade

I mean, it’s not, there are a few additions to the template here, but this is a swipey swipey action game that sees you taking on hulking monsters in one on one combat.

You swipe to attack, tap a shield to block, and hit buttons on the left and right of the screen to dodge in that direction. You can parry as well.

Oh, and you’ve got magic spells you can throw out to change the ebb and flow of the battle. There’s equipment to upgrade, and you can buff up your arcane powers as well, if you’re into that sort of thing.

Everything you need to know about Pokemon Duel on iPhone, iPad, and Android

In a break to our regularly scheduled content, I figured I should probably write something about the new Pokemon game that’s just come out on the App Store.

Yeah, you read that right, there’s a new Pokemon game on the App Store. How could I write about anything else when I’m so excited about all of those Pokemon and the balls and all the rest of that stuff.

Anyway, here’s a break down of all the stuff you need to know about Pokemon Duel. So you can just jump straight in and start duelling some Pokemon. Classic.

What is it?

It’s not your standard Pokemon game, that’s for sure, and it’s not the sort of thing that’s likely to make as much noise as Pokemon GO. What it is is a strategy boardgame that sees you using your Poke-deck to beat a foe.

You collect different Pokemon and then use them to take control of a grid. There are little fights that involve spinning a wheel, and cards you can play that change some of the effects that your monsters have.

What’s the set up?

You’re working your way through a series of fights to prove you’re the best. I think the opening cinematic heavily suggests that if you’re victorious you’ll nab yourself a giant tower. Which is sort of cool.

Put in your own name, play a few practice bouts, and you’re good to go. But don’t be surprised if you get trounced to begin with.

There’s a surprising amount of depth here, in spite of the fact that thing…

That’s the big question. So to help you out, here’s the official AppSpy verdict, in video form.

But if you don’t have the time to watch a video because you’re a busy important person, here’s the short answer – yes. It’s a brilliant auto-running platformer that does things differently.

It’s bright, it’s breezy, and it’s an awful lot of fun. Basically everything you want from a Mario mobile game.

What happens when I get it?

Well there’s some free content when you download the game. You can play through the first three sections of the game and participate in some Toad Rally as well. If you want more though, you’ll have to pay.

The game has a one off IAP of £7.99, which gets you everything that i…

Stop everything! You need to watch the karaoke trailer for Office Chair Zombie Attack

In Office Chair Zombie Attack you tilt and twist your device around to line up the crosshairs of your gun and blow zombies to smithereens. The game’s presented in a cartoonish 3D, there are lots of enemies and weapons, and leaderboards to compare your shooting skills with your mates.

Sounds fun!

But the developer – A Small Game – really caught our eye with its 90s karaoke-themed trailer for the title.

It’s brilliant and silly and you have to watch it right now.

Office Chair Zombie Attack comes to iPhone and iPad on the 25th of December.

Here’s a sneak peek at upcoming EA Mobile racer Need for Speed No Limits

EA Mobile has announced that it’s releasing a brand new mobile Need For Speed ‘soon’. That means you can quite safely expect it to look great, play okay, and require much tilting of your respective devices as you drive at dangerous speeds in an urban environment.

The game is, rather unsurprisingly, in development by Firemonkeys – famed for releasing one of the most expensive free games to hit a mobile device ever – Real Racing 3.

If you’re feeling the need for speed yourself, why not watch the ridiculous trailer in which Ken Block does what he does best – driving a car really, really fast.

Need for Speed: SHIFT 2 Unleashed for iPad – App Review

NFS Shift 2 HD for iPad is an arcade racer made popular by its unique cockpit experience. While its a decent game, its definitely not the best racer out there. Available on the App Store for .99 Graphics: Not the best example of what graphics on an iPad can be. Not optimized for an iPad 2. C- Sound: The music is ok. The car engine sound effects sound too similar. C Gameplay: Very much an arcade racer, so don’t expect tight handling. The sense of speed is ok. C- Replay Value: Be prepared to spend money via in app purchases unless you have a lot of time to accumulate cash from races. There are a good amount of game modes and vehicle upgrades do add to replay value. B- Overall (not an average): C-
