The 5 best games for iPhone and iPad this week – October 13th

Whether you like it or not, we’ve reached the end of another week. Some of us have done things, some of us have done stuff, some of us have spent too much time asleep on their sofa. But it’s done with now. We’ll turn over a new leaf on Monday, right?

Anyway, Friday is when we round up the best games that have come out on the App Store this week. And it’s been a pretty sparkly week for mobile gaming all told. We got some ports, we got some exclusives, and everything that came out, for the most part, was pretty darn good.

As usual you can click on the emboldened names of the games below to download them from the App Store. And if you’ve spotted anything else you think should be on the list, it’d be nice if you stuck it in the comments down there are the bottom of the hot content.

The Talos Principle

The super slick first person puzzler game finally gets to the App Store. It’s every bit as intriguing on your phone or tablet, although it is pretty resource intensive. The controls translate pretty well, and while it might not be a perfect port, for just a fiver it’s pretty hard to complain.

The 5 best games for iPhone and iPad this week – October 6th

Friday is happening. Friday is happening all around us. There’s nothing anyone can do about it, so let’s just roll with the punches and see what happens. This crazy rollercoaster ride is going to have to come to an end at some point, whether we want it to or not.

If you’d like some entertainment while the carriages shoot up and down though, Friday is when we round up the best games that have come out this week on the App Store. Quite frankly it’s a bit of an odd week, but bear with me because I think there’s some decent games to be found if you’re willing to persevere.

As usual you can click on the emboldened names of the games below to download them from the App Store. And if you’ve got your own suggestions about what should be included, feel free to whack them in the comments section all the way down there at the bottom of the content. Stay fresh.

REKT

There’s a lot to be said for flipping hyper-powered cars off the end of ramps. And Rekt understands that. It’s a simple game, but there’s a lot going on here if you really want to master the spins and skids you need to get the best scores. It’s silly, it’s entertaining, and it doesn’t take itself too seriously. Really, what’s not to like?

The best games on sale for iPhone and iPad right now – October 4th

Another Wednesday is here. I hope you’re all having an excellent week so far. There’s a lot going on in the world though isn’t there? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could get some mobile videogame bargains to distract you from all of the horror. And if someone made a list of all the best ones going cheap on the App Store right now?

Oh, wait, that’s what we do on Wednesdays around these parts. Don’t you just love it when a plan comes together? I know I certainly do. And there are some classic games going for a song this week. Chirpy chirpy cheap cheap they’re going. What an absolutely nonsense thing to type out.

As usual you can click on the emboldened names of the games below to head to the App Store and grab them. And if you’ve got your own suggestions, feel free to hurl them into the comments down there at the bottom of this excellent slice of content.

Severed – £1.99 / $ 1.99

A brilliant mobile port of one of the last great PS Vita games. It’s an action adventure that sees you slicing up monsters with swipes on the screen. But it’s not Infinity Blade. It’s smarter than that, deeper, and has its own unique art style as well. And for less than a couple of quid it is an absolute steal.
