The best games on sale for iPhone and iPad right now – January 3rd

The tree is down, the presents you didn’t like have all been returned or thrown into the bin, and now we’re back to trudging through the misery of winter without a single thing to look forward to. Well there might be things to look forward to, like wasting your money on things you don’t really need.

Which is good, because Wednesday is when we round up the best games that are currently on sale on the App Store. There are some surprisingly good new deals out there, so much so that I actually had to pick which ones to talk about rather than just picking the first five semi-decent games I saw.

You can poke the emboldened name of the games below to grab them from the App Store. And if you’ve seen games you think should be included here, feel free to stick them in the comments section at the bottom. Go on, you know you want to.

Dungeon Rushers – 99p / 99c

A super slick RPG that sees you rushing through a series of dungeons. Well there’s more to it than that. The battle system is really smart, and there’s a good story here too. Well worth picking up for that dirt cheap price.

Out There Chronicles – Ep 1 – 99p / 99c\

A gamebook set in the same exciting world as Out There. There are alien races to encounter, and a mystery to uncover. If you lik…

We’re getting towards the end of the year, and that means that there are a whole bunch of games on sale right now for iPhone and iPad. And you know what? Some of them are really, really good. In fact, there might be too many to choose from.

But don’t worry about that, because we’ve gone right ahead and picked the five that you should be splashing your cash on. After all, you’ve probably spent a good deal of money this month on wonderful presents for me. I mean for your family.

You can click on the names of the games below to grab them from the App Store. And if you’ve got your own suggestions, lob them without fear of reprisal into the comments section down there at the bottom of the article.

Steredenn – £1.99 / $ 1.99

A space-based shooter that mixes in roguelike elements to create something pretty darn special. It looks incredible, and you’ll be slicing through waves of enemies with a mixed look of concentration and unbridled joy on your probably sweaty face.

The Room Three – £1.99 / $ 1.99

One of the best puzzle games on the App Store. In fact its just one of the best puzzle games period. It sees you using the touchscreen to manipulate things in a creepy Victorian setting. There’s so much to do, so much to…

The best games on sale for iPhone and iPad right now – November 15th

Wednesday has snuck up on us like some sort of big sneaky day. I don’t know, I’ve only had one coffee so far today and quite frankly that is far from enough. I’m still bashing out content for you though, so don’t complain too much.

With it being Wednesday, it’s time to round up the very best games that are on sale on the App Store right now. And I’ll tell you what, there are some real doozies going cheap this week. In fact, I’m pretty sure there’s something for everyone. Sort of.

As usual you can smash a click on the names of the games below if you want to be taken away to the App Store. And if you think there’s a game we should have included, but for some reason haven’t, feel free to correct our mistake in the comments section at the bottom of the page.

Dreii – £2.99 / $ 2.99

A clever physics puzzler that’s all about working together. You’ll be connected with other players around the world, and need to use their skills to solve some tricky challenges. It’s unique, it looks gorgeous, and if you haven’t given it a go yet it’s well worth picking up.

The best games on sale for iPhone and iPad right now – November 8th

Look out of your window. You see that grey fuzz? That’s Wednesday that is. It’s come to get you, to claim you for its own. You’re going to be dragged kicking and screaming to the Wednesday cave whether you like it or not.

That said, there is one way to stop the inevitable from happening. You could buy yourself a cheap iOS game. And it just so happens that I’ve provided you with a list of the five best iOS games that are on sale at the moment. What a coincidence.

As usual you can click on the emboldened names of the games below to download them from the App Store. And if you’ve got your own suggestions of games that might keep Wednesday at bay, feel free to stick them in the comments section.

Braveland – 99p / 99c

A slick and entertaining turn-based RPG that peels away a lot of the fluff from the genre and leaves you with an exciting experience that’s the perfect fit for mobile. There’s a lot of fun to be sucked out of this one, especially if you’re a fan of the genre. If you’re not, well, maybe leave it be.

Waggle Words – £2.99 / $ 2.99

The best games on sale for iPhone and iPad right now – November 1st

Somehow, for reasons unbeknownst even to me, it’s Wednesday again. It’s at times like these it’s best not to think too deeply into the passage of time. Just accept the inevitable and move forward. After all, that’s what time is going to do anyway.

With it being Wednesday, it’s time for us here at AppSpy to round up the five best games that are currently on sale on the App Store. And I’ll tell you what, there are some gems out there this week that you should definitely be picking up if you haven’t already.

Forgotten Memories: Alternate Realities – £2.99 / $ 2.99

It’s been a while since this one got a price cut, so if you’ve been on the fence about grabbing it now is the perfect time. Especially if you’re a fan of Silent Hill. This is a spooky, psychological survival horror game with plenty of frights and creepy mannequins. And for less than three quid you really can’t go wrong.

The best games on sale for iPhone and iPad right now – October 4th

Another Wednesday is here. I hope you’re all having an excellent week so far. There’s a lot going on in the world though isn’t there? Wouldn’t it be nice if you could get some mobile videogame bargains to distract you from all of the horror. And if someone made a list of all the best ones going cheap on the App Store right now?

Oh, wait, that’s what we do on Wednesdays around these parts. Don’t you just love it when a plan comes together? I know I certainly do. And there are some classic games going for a song this week. Chirpy chirpy cheap cheap they’re going. What an absolutely nonsense thing to type out.

As usual you can click on the emboldened names of the games below to head to the App Store and grab them. And if you’ve got your own suggestions, feel free to hurl them into the comments down there at the bottom of this excellent slice of content.

Severed – £1.99 / $ 1.99

A brilliant mobile port of one of the last great PS Vita games. It’s an action adventure that sees you slicing up monsters with swipes on the screen. But it’s not Infinity Blade. It’s smarter than that, deeper, and has its own unique art style as well. And for less than a couple of quid it is an absolute steal.

Fighting Fantasy Legends – £1.99 / $ 1.99

A slick reimagining of the famous game books. This one plays more like a board game, with pieces and dice rolls. There are still choices to be made, and plenty of text to read, but if you’re the sort who likes their adventures to have a bit more action and a bit less imagination, then this is going to be right up your street.

The best games on sale for iPhone and iPad right now – September 20th

Yes, it’s Wednesday. It’s been Wednesday for quite a while now, depending on where you are. It might not be Wednesday in some places. How does time even work? I have no idea. Go ask a grown up, we’re here to talk about games.

And on Wednesday (which is the day that today is), we talk about games that are on sale. Five of them. The best five that are currently going for cheap on the App Store. So that’s exactly what we’re going to do right now.

As usual you can click on the emboldened name of the games below to download them from the App Store. And if you’ve got your own suggestions, feel free to toss them haphazardly into the comments section at the bottom of the article.

Scurvy Scallywags – Free

There are a lot of match-stuff puzzlers on the App Store. A good deal of them are complete garbage. This one isn’t though. It’s full of pirates and silliness, and its full name is far too long to type. The board moves, you’re trying to create the perfect sea shanty, and the whole thing is really rather wonderful.

Tales of the Adventure Company – 99p / 99c

A smart, puzzling roguelike that’s all about killing monsters, making new friends, and staying alive for as long as possible. It’s on the casual side of the scale, but there’s enough pop and cruelty here to make it well worth a look. You’ll be tapping, a lot, but you’re going to be having a lovely old time while you’re doing it.

Yuri – Free

A gorgeous looking platformer that plays by its own rules. And its own rules mainly involve doing platformery thing…

The best games on sale for iPhone and iPad right now – August 16th

Hello there. It’s Wednesday. So that’s probably good. Especially if you like the days of the week. I don’t like them. They are mean to me. I have to do things on them. What a life. What a silly, silly life.

Anyway, Wednesday is when we round up the best games that are on sale on the App Store at the moment. It’s a time-honoured tradition, and I’m not going to stop now just because people are screaming at me to get out of the building because it’s on fire.

As usual you can click on the emboldened names of the games below to download them from the App Store. And if you spot any exquisite deals that I might have missed, feel free to chuck them in the comments at the bottom of the article.

Tsuro – Free

A slick and polished board game adaptation that’s all about leading dragons around. It looks lovely, it plays brilliantly, and did I mention that it’s full of dragons? I hope I did, because that’s one of the game’s selling points. Or not selling. Because it’s free right now.
