Tsuro – £2.99 / $ 2.99

A digital version of an intriguing boardgame. It’s all about dragons. But there isn’t any gold hoarding here. Instead you’re just trying not to fly off the board. You build your dragon’s path as you play, and whoever has the last dragon standing wins.

The best games on sale for iPhone and iPad right now – April 19th

Well, it’s Wednesday again. How did that happen? Did someone fast forward the weekend? Was it you? If it was I’m very disappointed in you. Try slowing it down next time, yeah? I don’t know, some people.

Anyway Wednesday is when we round up the best games that are currently on sale on the App Store. So I’ve just gone right ahead and done that for you. Even though you might have fast forwarded the weekend. It’s just how I rule.

There are some classics in the mix this week, but you’re going to want to be quick if you’re going to download any of them – these sales won’t last forever. As always, click on the emboldened name of a game in the list below to grab it. Let’s do this.

Out There – 99p / 99c

A big and wonderful space exploration game. Part gamebook, part roguelike, all loneliness and death. This is the Omega edition of the game as well, so it’s chock full of interesting new content. And for less than the price of a thing that costs a pound you can’t really go wrong.

The best games on sale for iPhone and iPad right now – April 12th

Oh look it’s Wednesday. That’s nice. Er, I can’t think of anything cynical or funny to say right now, so I’m just going to fill this first paragraph with explanations to that effect. Sound good to you? Cool.

Well Wednesday is when we look at the best games on sale on the App Store at the moment. And so I’ve done that. I’ve put them in a list. You can read the list down there.

As usual click on the name of a game to go and buy or download it. This ends the preamble for the list. I hope you enjoy the rest of the content. All the best.

Hyperburner – Free

Hyperburner is free!?! Oh cool. But what is it? Well it’s a super fast sci-fi racer that looks absolutely gorgeous. Perhaps more importantly it also controls fantastically. And let’s be honest, the controls are the most important things in a game. No, really, they are. Thinking an auto-running Wipeout and you’re getting there.

Oh look it’s Wednesday. So that means it’s time to round up the best games that are on sale on the App Store right now. And looking down my list well, there are a couple of really good games going for cheap right now.

As ever you can click on the emboldened name of a game to download it. And there’s one game here that you absolutely should grab if you haven’t already, because it’s incredible. Ah, but which one?

This one…

Her Story – £2.99 / $ 2.99

A brilliant and entrancing story about a murder. But it’s much more than that. Told through video clips that you watch in a disjointed order, this is a tale that twists and turns as you delve deeper into it. It’s a game that’s tough to explain – you really need to play it though, that much I know for sure.

Mayhem – 99p / 99c

A super-quick, super-hard retro blaster that offers a massive challenge to anyone who dares jump into it. It’s not the deepest game out there, but it’s the sort of experience that, for just 99p, is almost impossible to turn down.

Gangstar New Orleans is out right now for iPhone, iPad, and Android – Here’s everything you need to know

Gangstar: New Orleans is the latest in Gameloft’s murdery crime franchise. Think GTA on mobile and you’re about half way there. Well, actually you’re about all of the way there.

But what do you need to know before you jump into the game’s world of car-jackings, drug deals, and all manner of other underworld activities? Well, you need to know everything in the list just below.

You can click on the emboldened name of the game to head over to the App Store where you can download it for free. And join us next week where we’ll be going over the game with a fine-tooth comb in one of our massive guides.

Gangstar: New Orleans – Free

What is it?

Like the intro says, it’s the newest in Gameloft’s series of GTA aping crime sims. This time it’s set in New Orleans and it’s free to play.

You play a grizzled gangster type who’s setting out with some unscrupulous friends to take over a power vacuum left by a series of arrest by the New Orleans police.

To that end you complete tasks, murder a lot of people, and try and claim turf from other gang leaders on your way to the top.

Free to play you say?

I did say that, didn’t I? Yup, while the game is still ostensibly open world, every time you perform a mission you’ll have to spend some energy.

There’s plenty of ot…

The best games on sale on iPad and iPhone right now – February 15th

It’s Wednesday, the middle of the week, and that means it’s time for us to have a long hard look at five of the best games that are on sale on the App Store right now.

And for the first time in a while it’s actually been pretty tough to pick which ones to add to the list. Basically everything here is a gem, and there are other gems on sale as well.

But I’m a discerning gem-picker with an eye for quality, so these are the ones I’ve gone for. Click on the emboldened name of the game and you’ll be whisked away to the App Store where you can buy the game. You’re welcome.

Motorsport Manager – Free

Where the likes of New Star Soccer kick around whimsy with their sport managing, this one’s a little more po-faced. And if anything, it’s better for it.

Take control of a racing team and lead them to glory. Or if you’re anything like me, lead them to the back of the grid and bankruptcy.

Infinity Blade 2 – Free

A classic. It might not quite have the focus of the original, but it’s not as bloated as the third game in th…

The best games on sale on iPhone and iPad right now – February 8th

Wednesday, Wednesday, gotta write a list of the best games on sale on the App Store on Wednesday. Everybody’s looking forward to reading and consuming the list, then acting on its suggestions.

That was a pretty catchy song, I think you’ll agree. And it also managed to spell out exactly what I’m up to in this here list. All that stuff I said up there. Wicked.

If you like the look of any of the games, then you can click on their emboldened names to be taken to the App Store, where you can download them to your heart’s content. Probably just once, but that’s more than none, right?

Bertram Fiddle: Episode 1: A Dreadly Business – 99p / 99c

A tongue-in-cheek point and click adventure with a decidedly British thread of humour running through it. It looks lovely, and it plays just fine.

You play the titular investigator who’s trying to track down a serial killer before they strike again. Cue jokes and shenanigans in an alternate Victorian London.

Lords of the Fallen is out right now on iPad and iPhone, here’s everything you need to know

Lords of the Fallen is a new mobile game that has ties with the console game of the same name. So we thought it’d make sense to give you a breakdown of just what that means.

So here, in handy list form, is everything you need to know about the game that just hit the App Store. Well, almost everything. We don’t know any hacks or anything crazy like that.

It’s premium

And when I say premium, I mean super premium. You’re looking at a ten pound spend to get the game installed on your device. Which is, well, pretty expensive in this day and age, let’s be honest.

But it also has consumable IAPs. They’re not necessary to complete the game or anything like that, but one of them costs £48.99. And another, which gives you all the equipment in the game will set you back £9.99. Like I say though, they’re not essential.

It’s Infinity Blade

I mean, it’s not, there are a few additions to the template here, but this is a swipey swipey action game that sees you taking on hulking monsters in one on one combat.

You swipe to attack, tap a shield to block, and hit buttons on the left and right of the screen to dodge in that direction. You can parry as well.

Oh, and you’ve got magic spells you can throw out to change the ebb and flow of the battle. There’s equipment to upgrade, and you can buff up your arcane powers as well, if you’re into that sort of thing.

The best games on sale on iPad and iPhone right now – February 1st

It’s Wednesday. At least, I think it’s Wednesday. I’ve sort of lost track of time. I’m going to say it’s Wednesday, and you can all just agree with me because I’m super cool and get to write all the words.

Anyway, with it probably being Wednesday it’s time for us to round up the five best games that are on sale on the App Store right now.

It’s not what you might call a vintage week for games being on sale, but there are a few here that you should definitely consider picking up if you haven’t already splashed some of your cash on them.

Don’t Starve: Pocket Edition

While a new version of the game might have graced the App Store recently, that doesn’t mean you should overlook this excellent survival RPG.

Wander around a randomly generated wasteland making things, starting fires, and trying to stay alive for as long as you possibly can.

Little Luca

A smart and cute as a button physics puzzler that sees you trying to find all the stars after they fell out of the sky.

Gorgeous to look at, easy to play, and bubbling with interesting ideas. There might be a few niggles here and there but it’s definitely worth a…

The best games on sale on iPhone and iPad right now – January 25th

It’s Wednesday, so that means it’s time to round up the best games that are on sale on the App Store right now. Because if we didn’t do it, who else would? That guy over there? I heartily doubt he’d have the nous.

There are some excellent games for cheap. One that’s only just come out, a couple that are reasonably new, and one that is, in my humble opinion, the finest entry into a classic series.

So let’s just jump right in and start listing things. Do you have your list helmet on? I hope so, because here we go. Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

Rollercoaster Tycoon 3

There are some really bad Rollercoaster Tycoon games on the App Store. This isn’t one of them though. It’s a bit fiddly, but it’s premium and it does what it says on its digital tin.

If you want to run a theme park from the comfort of your own phone, then this is the game for you. Especially now it’s pretty cheap.

Angry Birds Space

In some ways, this is the last great Angry Birds game. It tweaks the formula in all the right ways, and the introduction of gravity is, quite frankly, ingenious.

It looks great, it plays great, and right now you can pick it up for nothing at all. So why don’t you stop messing about and…
